U.S. to join global push for LED lighting
Per the Washington Examiner, the U.S. is joining forces in a global initiative to switch to LED lighting. This push is in an effort to save energy worldwide. An estimated 50 % increase in demand in lighting by 2030, coupled with energy conscious consumers, are fueling this initiative. The article states that, ” If the international coalition is successful in promoting LED and other efficient lighting systems, carbon dioxide emissions could be cut 800 million metric tons per year, according to the government. That’s the equivalent of 684 coal-fired power plants.” This effort could benefit many generations to come. It’s an exciting time to be in lighting!
